Klaar Mobile Entertainment took Mahjongg a step further with a beautiful 3D rendition of an old favorite. Mahjongg has been around for over a hundred years and now you can get the beauty of a fully 3D version directly on your Pocket PC. Features:
The game is truly 3 dimensional. By moving the stylus from left to right, the board will tilt giving you the full feeling of leaning over a real Mahjongg board. The tile set is beautifully created, plus you can download even more tile sets from their website. As for the speed, it moves cleanly and smoothly from left to right. There is also a bar at the bottom of the screen which allows you to zoom in or out for a better view.
The game will work for both standard Pocket PC’s and VGA devices. However, the game does not support higher resolution graphics on the VGA units as of yet. That may come in an upgrade later. The 2 dimensional mode gives you the overview of the entire screen. By clicking the top of the screen you can get a hint, change 3D to 2D and even shuffle the tiles. Just click on a tile and find it’s match. If it is a match, it will be removed. If it’s not a match, the second tile will be highlighted and you can find it’s match. At the very bottom of the screen, you’ll see a message telling you the number of moves that are currently available. I like that feature. Sometimes you can stare at these boards and swear there aren’t any matches to be found.
If you are a Mahjongg fanatic, you’ll want to give this game a try. It’s not your run of the mill Mahjongg game. It has a different feel and can add some additional challenges. One thing you’ll notice, there doesn’t seem to be an exit button in the game. Just click any button on the device and you’ll return to the menu. The game will automatically be saved. A rather cool feature in my book! Upon installation of the game, you’ll find the Mahjongg icon in the Programs section under the start menu. It is not automatically installed into the game directory. The game sells for $9.95 and is available for all Pocket PC devices (including ARM/X-Scale, MIPS and SH3 processors). Try it or buy it here. Mahjongg Deluxe 3D requires about 2MB of RAM to play the game. If you download some of the free tile sets, it may require a little more memory. The background graphics are also customizable. You’ll find instructions on how to save a photo to be used as a background graphic. Mahjongg Deluxe 3D is also available for the Symbian UIQ and Series 60 devices. Special
