Joker’s Quest is a newest game from PDAmill. My first impression was, it’s “Nemo” meets “BoulderDash”! The similarities are brief. Once you get started, you’ll realize it’s a game all of it’s own! Don’t let that stop you from trying out this bright and innovative new game.

Joker is a little clown fish and it’s his job to rescue Princess Sephine. The graphics are very bright and colorful. At first glance it might look like a kids game, but it’s good for the entire family! Whether your 8 or 80, I’m sure you’ll enjoy playing this one!

Features:

  • Fantastic 2D and 3D artwork
  • Innovative gameplay with tons of different extras
  • Four beautiful worlds to explore
  • Four puzzles to solve, four bosses to beat
  • More than 120 unique levels to conquer
  • Selectable difficulty levels
  • Original Music, voices, and sounds by Jaybot7
  • Hilariously wacky story from the authors of Snails and Arvale

This game is EXTENSIVE! With 25 levels just for training, you’ll find enough here to keep you busy for a long time! By the time you’ve finished the training, you’ll be a stronger fish and ready to face the real danger. Each training level offers a complete help screen on how to get through the level. The game starts out with the story line of what’s happened so far. Be sure to read all about it and then get ready to start.

Game Play

The object is to collect the pearls and avoid the enemies. Either the D-Pad buttons or the stylus can be used to control the clown fish. Use the Settings/Control menu to reprogram your buttons and define an action key, restart level key and pause key. Move the fish through the sea and hide in the kelp if necessary. You’ll have to move around the coral and sleeping turtles. There are plenty of dangers such as Fan Blades, Crabs, Sharks, Sea Monkey, Ink fish, Oil, Hooks and Anchors. You’ll also find pearl plants, a Luphia horn, doors and keys, Dynamite fish and detonators, harpoons, bubble shields, bonus energy, and hints along the way. Collect all the pearls you need and the exit will appear. Find the exit and away you go to the next level. You’ll also find surprises in many of the levels. Be careful and move quickly! Keep an eye on the bar across the top of the screen. That’s your life level. If it disappears, you’re dead.

This game offers quite a bit of fun and excitement. The music is very pleasant and soothing. You may think to yourself why there are so many training levels. Trust me, you’ll be glad you went through them all. It’s the perfect way to introduce you to all of the dangers and excitement to come later. Joker’s Quest is definitely going to be one of my all time favorite games to play!

Joker’s Quest is $19.95. You can try it or buy it here. It appears to be compatible with a wide variety of devices. Memory requirements take a little more than 5MB of storage space. The game runs perfectly from a storage card. Joker’s Quest is also available for Smartphone devices for only $9.95.

Special thanks goes to PDAmill for allowing us to review a full version of the game.
