Disco fever is coming! Crazy Jack is a new platform game from int13 production. Baby Jack was born with a gift. He was (and still is) the pride of his parents. His gift was being the first genetically modified disco child! This put a little touch of groove into his every move and mind. Everybody knew him as Groovy Jack. But as always, being a little different brings its share of jealousy and Jack felt more and more negative vibes around him and became Crazy Jack, ready to kick some ass.

The object of the game is to jump and defuse the bombs before they explode. Stay away from anything that gets in your way. Especially, don’t fall off the edge into the water. There are more levels than you can imagine for you to enjoy!

Features:

  • Groovy character named Jack
  • Funky Music
  • Lots of bombs to defuse
  • Bunch of fruit to eat
  • Tons of bonus levels
  • Over 60 levels in 6 colorful worlds
  • Special bonus levels, rising water, bonus collector, time attack
  • Bad weather
  • Keypad or stylus controls
  • Battery indicator right on the screen!
  • Expandable levels from www.int13.net

Crazy Jack is an addicting new game. It has some great music and the graphics are very bright and colorful. A wide range of enemies are on your trail and setting the bombs. You need to be quick to get all of the bombs before they explode. The radar screen in the lower right will help guide you to the next bomb.

The game only needs four buttons to play, (left, right, jump and radar). Each button is customizable and can be set with the option menu. If you wish to play using the stylus, just point and drag Jack wherever you wish. To make Jack jump, point above his head and drag either left or right. It might take a little practice to learn the art of jumping. Don’t worry, they thought of this too. The first several levels of the game are for training. You’ll collect the fruit and find the bombs. You will be introduced to some of the enemies and obstacles that you’ll find later in the huge 60+ levels.

Now, very few people can make it through all 60+ levels in one sitting. I seriously doubt anyone could. They took this into consideration as well. After you’ve completed a stage, you’ll receive a password that will let you start from that stage the next time. There are quite a few levels to each stage, so it will take determination and practice.

A few hints to play the game:

  • Try to get the enemies to follow you, so you can jump over them
  • The loud speakers are only dangerous while it’s pumping out sounds
  • Don’t jump up and hit an enemy
  • Keep an eye on the bomb count, if the warning sound goes off, a bomb has been set. Move quickly
  • Watch out for sharp spikes

The game requires about 10MB of RAM to play and about 3MB in storage space. I found the game works great from a storage card. To install the game, you’ll need an active internet connection for registration. This can easily be done using ActiveSync after the installation. It does mention that XP users running service pack two may be required to open a port, but it worked fine on my installation without intervention.

Crazy Jack was released on June 7th, 2005. I think Crazy Jack is a great addition to the int13 production game catalog! Crazy Kart was one of the first games I reviewed and I still love that game. I’m sure Crazy Jack will be one that we’ll play for a long time to come. Download a trial version or purchase the full game direct from int13 production. The game is available for Pocket PC 2002/2003 ARM devices.

Special thanks to France from int13 production for sending us a full version to test and review before the release.
This game was tested using the Verizon xv6600 Pocket PC Phone Edition (running WM2003SE) and the iPAQ 3955 Pocket PC (running WM2003).
